In the letter dated 9/24/1871 Duer writes "This is the last letter I shall send to Spring Dale my loved one - you mentioned sometime since that you would probably be in Balto. by the 27th..." The letters are written from Cinncinati, Logans Port, Memphis, New Orleans, and Baltimore. Reference to the Tilghman's in the letter of 11/17/1871.
